Here’s another tuned Focus, this time in the shape of the 270bhp Loder1899 Ford Focus ST.

Having already released a tasty bodykit for the MkII Ford Focus, Loder1899 have turned their attention to the 2008 facelifted version, this time choosing the 2.5-litre ST.

Visually there are subtle changes to the standard ST, with a new front apron and grille and a carbon fiber rear diffuser. The look of the car is enhanced further by the new suspension that drops the ride height, allowing the new 20-inch ‘IRA’ wheels to really fill those wheelarches.

Performance has been increased with an ECU upgrade, as well as the fitment of a new sports air intake, sports catalyst and stainless steel exhaust, lifting power by 45bhp up to 270bhp. This drops the 0-62mph time to 6.5 seconds (from 6.8) and lifts the top speed to 155mph.

It must be tough for Focus ST owners who want to choose the best tuning package for their ride. My vote still goes to the Mountune Focus ST, if only for the fact that you can tune your ST and keep your warranty intact.
