Even though it’s not yet in the showrooms, tuner ABT have managed to release a full tuning package for the VW Golf VI.

As well as designing a bodykit that adds some attitude to the new car’s styling, ABT have been tweaking the 1.4-litre TSI engine. In standard form this engine produces either 122bhp or 160bhp, but the same units in the ABT Golf VI manage to push out 160bhp and 200bhp respectively. ABT have also been working on the 2.0 TDI diesel engine, which increases from 140bhp to 170bhp. Even more signifcant is the announcement that the Golf GTI VI, which won’t be available until well into next year, will receive a 30bhp increase to produce 240bhp.

To help the Golf cope with the extra performance there are handling and suspension upgrades available, including sport suspension and high performance brakes.

The bodykit consists of a front bumper and apron, sideskirts, rear roof spoiler and rear apron. Underneath the rear apron nestles the optional four-pipe exhaust system, and you can finish off the look with a set of 18 or 19-inch wheels in a choice of diamond-turned or high-glass polished finish.

ABT will be appearing at the Essen Motorshow on November 29th, where the ABT Golf VI will be shown to the public for the first time.
