A motorcyclist under a car is usually an incident that ends in tears, but in this case things worked out quite differently!

Cloverleaf-Lite With Alfa Romeo Sportiva

The Alfa Romeo MiTo and Giulietta ranges have just been injected with a little more sporty appeal in the shape of two new Sportiva models. The Sportiva trim is effectively Cloverleaf-lite, bringing some of the visual features from the range-topping performance models and making them available to the more economical engines in the Mito and Giulietta ranges. The Alfa MiTo Sportiva starts off as a Distinctive model and then adds ,£1,500 worth of optional extras for just £750 more. The MiTo Sportiva features exclusive 18-inch Quadrifoglio Verde wheels, kick plates and Sportiva badges. The cabin is revamped with a black theme by fitting darker headlining, a black leather steering wheel with matte black inserts, plus black Alcantara covered sport seats – all finished with green stitching. There are three engine options available on the Alfa MiTo Sportiva. The two petrol choices are the 85bhp...

Popping Balloons With An Alfa MiTo

Here’s a great publicity stunt from Alfa Romeo. Take one Alfa Romeo MiTo, stick a professional driver behind the wheel, present him with over 2,500 water-filled balloons and simply tell him to pop ‘em! That’s the basis for Alfa Romeo’s attempt at a new world record. The car is the range-topping MiTo Cloverleaf, a small and nimble 170bhp hot hatch with a top speed of 136mph. The driver is Terry Grant, a professional stunt driver who can already lay claim to 19 world records. The venue was the infield at Rockingham, leaving plenty of space for practice runs. The idea is simple. Pop as many balloons as possible with one car but leave four balloons untouched. Why four? Because then you can have a competition where four winners can enjoy an Alfa Romeo track day at Goodwood. Here’s a video of the MiTo about to go into action: The competition can be entered on...

Alfo Romeo MiTo Turismo Sport

It may have Sport in its name, but the Alfa Romeo MiTo Turismo Sport isn’t as sporty as you might think. The Turismo Sport is a limited edition of the MiTo. Available in just three colours (red, black and white), it can be ordered with a choice of two engines – a 95bhp 1.4-litre 16-valve petrol or a 95bhp 1.3-litre diesel. With 0-62mph taking over eleven seconds with either engine this is hardly the stuff of dreams, but at least the Turismo Sport gets loaded up with extra goodies – £1,610 worth in fact, including 16-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, Blue & Me technology, fog lights and a leather steering wheel. The MiTo Turismo Sport is on sale now, with the 1.4 petrol starting at £12,895 and the 1.3-litre diesel costing a little more at...

Alfa MiTo Cloverleaf Will Be Under £18k

Alfa Romeo have confirmed the pricing for MiTo’s using their new MultiAir engines, and that includes the hot Cloverleaf version. The new 1.4-litre turbocharged MultiAir engine is available in two power outputs. In the Lusso (£15,165) and Veloce (£16,135) models it will generate a reasonable 135bhp, while the performance-oriented Cloverleaf version (£17,895) will offer far more fun with 170bhp. While there’s no official annoncement of performance figures for either engine, Alfa are keen to stress the reduced emissions and fuel consumption and increased performance that the new MultiAir technology brings. Standard equipment for the Cloverleaf is generous and includes Active suspension, 17″ alloy wheels, LED tail lights, air conditioning and a scattering of carbon-fibre look-a-like trim. Check out the press release below for the full spec list and prices. Alfa are taking...
