Fuel Duty Increase Postponed

houses of parliamentBow down and thank the generosity of our Labour government, for they have decided to postpone the planned October increase in fuel duty. The Chancellor, Alistair Darling, announced the postponement of the 2p increase, stating it will ‘help motorists and businesses get through what is a difficult time for everyone.’ Shame it doesn’t do anything to address the rampant increases in fuel prices and the financial hardship already brought to millions of motorists and businesses. Also, note the use of the word ‘postpone’ instead of ‘scrap’. The increase may have been pushed back, but it hasn’t gone away.
