Ken Block may be a Youtube superstar with his drifting Gymkhana videos, but he is a keen rally driver too. As is Chris Atkinson, one-time works driver for the Subaru WRC team and currently competing in the WRC behind the wheel of a Citroen C4.

Below is what happens when the two guys get together and have some rear-wheel drive fun in an old rally classic, a 1978 Ford Escort Mk2. The car belongs to Block and, despite the old shape, is decked out with modern rallying gear. Under the bonnet is a 2.4-litre four-cylinder Millington engine that dishes out 280 horsepower to the rear wheels via a six-speed sequential gearbox. Judging by the smiles on Block’s and Atkinson’s faces, it’s a real hoot to drive on the loose gravel of New Hampshire.
