If you find yourself anywhere near J27 of the M1 on the first Saturday of each month you may want to swing by the headquarters of the Pendragon group in Annesley. If you’re early enough you should catch the Car Cafe, a monthly meeting that lets anyone who turns up grab a spot in the car park alongside a huge variety of exotic and interesting metal.
If you’re not familiar with Pendragon you should at least have heard of two of the group members – Evans Halshaw and Stratstone, both big dealerships who sell cars from a variety of manufacturers, with some examples lined up in the car park.
Classics line up against brand new cars. Italian supercars meet German super saloons, old Minis sit opposite new MINIs, Triumphs owners square up to Capri owners. Then there are the TVRs, Morgans, various hot hatches, a handful of road-rally cars and even more to ogle, peer in, and admire.
There’s also coffee and a burger van to keep the hunger pangs at bay, while lots of opportunity to talk to owners and like-minded car nuts.
It’s definitely worth a visit. The Car Cafe runs on the first Saturday of each month from 8.30 to 10.30. Look for Neway House on Little Oak Drive, NG15 0DR.
