If you were after a Citroen DS3 Racing and missed out on the limited run of 1000 units you’ll be pleased to know that Citroen are hoping to double production to 2,000.
They’ve been really chuffed with the glowing reviews and strong interest for the 204bhp DS3 Racing, despite the £24k price tag, and with only 200 right-hand drive models they were disappearing fast here in the UK. Citroen Racing are now trying to negotiate the increase, although there’s no word on how many of the extra 1,000 will be coming to our shores.
On the other hand, if you’d already secured an order for a DS3 Racing the news that there might be twice as many of them on the road might not be so good. Renault tried the same trick with the Clio Williams when they brought out the Williams 2 and 3, and that ended up with some very disgruntled owners of the original Willy taking them to court.
