It appears that Sebastian Loeb can do very little wrong when he’s behind the wheel of a Citroën. Year upon year he turns up to compete for the WRC title and wins it, although it has to be said he’s been given a close run for his money in recent championships.
To celebrate his continued success, Citroën have unveiled a special DS3 Racing S. Loeb edition. Limited to just 200 cars, the S. Loeb edition is signed by the great man himself and bears a numbered plaque to prove its authenticity.
Loeb’s special DS3 is certainly distinctive. It is painted matt black with a ‘textured effect’, while the roof, door mirrors, grille, dashboard fascia and gearstick base are decorated in a bright shade of red. The specification is boosted with the inclusion of Citroën’s MyWay navigation system.
The DS3 Racing is not the first special Citroën to bear Loeb’s name. Back in 2009 there was a C4 By Loeb, built to celebrate Sebastian’s sixth World Rally Championship title with Citroën. Powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine with 147bhp, the C4 By Loeb was hardly a performance icon. Fortunately the DS3 Racing S. Loeb is a much more enticing prospect.
