It looks like matt black is the new … erm, black. Originally the preserve of supercars such as the Lamborghini Reventon and and more recently seen on the Ford Focus RS500, matt paint seems to be catching on. As if to prove the point you can now buy a limited edition Fiat 500 Blackjack that comes with it’s own shine-free paintjob.
Based on the Sport specification and available with a choice of 1.2 or 1.4-litre petrol engines, the Fiat 500 Blackjack might lack the firepower of a Reventon or RS500 but it definitely looks the part. To go with the matt paint the Blackjack comes with a set of 16-inch matt black alloys that feature a red tramline, and behind them are a set of bright red brake callipers (but only on the 1.4). Door mirrors and plastic trim are painted in metallic black.
Being a limited edition there has to be a small number of Blackjacks available – only 200 will go on sale and they’ll only be available to order through Fiat’s website. Prices are £12,165 OTR for the 1.2 and £13,565 OTR for the 1.4.
I really like the new fiat 500 blackjack, the paint finish is the most striking feature of this new limited edition. Perfect city cars for big cities like London, where you can never find a parking space and if you do they are just too small to fit in.
