Want to treat you and your car for Christmas? Then have a quick look at the Superchips Bluefin website, as they’re currently offering their excellent Bluefin tuning module at 20% off.

If you’re not familiar with Bluefin, it’s a device that plugs into the car’s diagnostic port (usually somewhere on the dashboard). At the press of a button it copies a new improved engine map onto the ECU, giving claimed power boosts of 15-20%. It’s also easy to revert the car back to its original ECU settings by repeating the process, so if you’re the sneaky type you can revert back to the manufacturer’s settings when it comes to service time.

The only downside is that the device encodes itself to your car, so you can’t re-use it on other motors. On the other hand you can easily pass it on if you sell the car, so you could potentially recover some of the cost.

Typical improvements on a Ford Focus ST are a 50bhp increase (to 275bhp) and a massive increase in torque of 110lb-ft. The Vauxhall Astra VXR gains a similar power increase of 43bhp while torque goes up by 38lb-ft.

The offer runs until December 23rd 2008. Go on, you know you want one.
