Seat have announced the pricing for the upcoming Bocanegra ahead of its UK launch in October, as well as new pricing for the Ibiza FR and Cupra.
The Ibiza FR starts off at £14,995 and comes with a 1.4-litre TSI engine that produces 150PS (149bhp) and 220Nm (162lb.ft) of torque. The TSI unit is one of VW’s twin-charger engines that combine a turbocharger and supercharger to boost power from a small-capacity engine and it’s enough to give the FR a decent 0-62mph time of 7.7 seconds and a top speed of 130mph, while also returning a respectable 44.8mpg on the combined cycle.
If the FR isn’t hot enough for you then you could go for the Ibiza Cupra, priced at £15,995. This features the same basic engine as the FR but is boosted to 180PS (178bhp). The extra power drops the 0-62 time to just 7.2 seconds and raises the top speed to 140mph and yet fuel economy is barely affected at 44.1mpg.
Meanwhile, the Bocanegra costs £700 more than the Cupra at £16,695. It uses the same engine as the Cupra but benefits from a package of styling tweaks to make it stand out from the Cupra.
All three cars come with a seven speed DSG gearbox, XDS advanced traction control and 17-inch alloys as standard.
Seat have released more images of the Bocanegra, and having looked at the pics I personally think that red is still the colour to go for. Somehow the black/white combination just doesn’t work, but it is still a handsome little car.
