I know truck drivers can come in all shapes and sizes but this is ridiculous. This is Charlie the hamster and he’s … a trucker!
Sadly the little fella’s too short to reach the pedals so he needs a human co-driver to help him drive his Volvo FMX truck. Oh, and a carrot for encouragement. The fact that his carrot-chasing antics are happening in a quarry, with sheer drops at the edge of the road, are all part of the peril of Charlie’s chosen career.
Of course, there is a point to this video. What Volvo are trying to demonstrate is that the steering system fitted to their new FMX truck is so light that it requires little more than the twirl of a finger to control the truck, even when fully laden. Or even just a scampering hamster.
