The recent Mugen Civic Type R may have been expensive but there’s no denying it was fast and sounded magnificent, and now owners of regular Civics have an option to dip into the Mugen parts bin and give their own cars some of that magic.
Eight Honda dealers from across the UK have been chosen to launch the Mugen Original Parts Programme, supplying FN2 Civic Type R owners with a range of Mugen tuning parts, accessories and merchandise. Outside of serious motorsport and Gran Turismo the Mugen name is relatively unknown in the UK, but Honda are hoping to change that and introduce the brand to a wider market.
At the moment the parts on offer include forged aluminium wheels, performance brake pads, quick shift kits, sports suspension and a range of body styling kits for the Civic. Expect to see Mugen parts arriving for other Honda models over the next 12 months.
Parts requiring fitment by Honda dealers are covered by a 12 month/ 10,000 mile warranty, and other accessories are covered by a standard manufacturing defects warranty. The eight dealers offering the Mugen programme are:
