When I were a lad, Top Gear used to be about cars that real people could go out and buy. Admittedly it was a lot more boring but at least they featured cars that were relevant to the viewers. This was back in the days when Jeremy Clarkson had more hair and James and Richard had yet to arrive in the studio.
There was also a young female presenter who did a few reviews until being tempted over to the dark side (channel Five) for Fifth Gear. Yes, it was Vicki Butler Henderson. Check out the video below from 1998, where she has a go in the excellent 1.6-litre Peugeot 106 Rallye, a stripped out junior hatchback that was great fun to drive and represented a time when Peugeot were masters of the hot hatch.
