You can always tell when Christmas is getting close. No, not when the shops start playing festive jingles to shoppers in the middle of August. Oh no, the real sign that Christmas is looming is when the Top Gear team start promoting their latest DVDs.
This year sees a sequel to the Perfect Road Trip of 2013. Jeremy and Richard head off to Italy, leaving James at home to fettle his precious Honda Cub, where the intrepid duo plan to drive 500 miles from Venice to the Isle of Capri along the gorgeous Amalfi coast.
The McLaren 650S and Lamborghini Huracan make their first Top Gear appearance along with the return of the McLaren P1. Add to that a new Corvette Stingray, Alfa 4C, Ferrari replica racing, an Abarth 500, slightly damaged F-Type coupe and BMW M4 and you have a typical Top Gear special. For classic fans there’s a pair of 1960s Alfa Romeos and a couple of Ford Capris on the Isle of Capri. There will undoubtedly be some Stig-based hilarity too.
The Perfect Road Trip 2 is out on DVD and Blu-ray on 17th November. Alternatively, scouring the bargain bins of motorway service stations may find you an unopened copy of the previous Perfect Road Trip.
