In the absence of Top Gear you may not have watched much BBC2 recently and that will mean you’ve missed the trailer for the new series (the 20th of ‘new’ Top Gear) that starts this Sunday.
We can expect to see open-topped supercars, a hot hatch triple test (Clio vs Fiesta vs 208?), the Jaguar F-Type, some tyre smoking action from an electric AMG, taxi racing … and a racing yacht?
There’s also an all-new Reasonably Priced Car to replace the retiring Kia C’eed. What will it be? So far its identity is unknown to all but a select few. One of the first celebrity drivers is rumoured to be Game Of Thrones evil-monger, Charles Dance.
There’s also what Jeremy describes as ‘Top Gear’s most ambitious shoot yet’ on a closed section of The Mall in London. It’s clearly a very patriotic affair with Union Jacks aplenty and Buckingham Palace visible in the distance.

So remember, on Sunday at 8pm, tune your TV in to BBC Two or BBC Two HD to enjoy the new series. And yes, some caravans were harmed in the filming of this series.
UPDATE: Top Gear have just released an even longer internet-only trailer for the new series. If you don’t like spoilers then don’t look at the following video.
