Renault have a new special edition of their hot Clio waiting in the wings at Geneva. The new Clio RS Monaco GP edition is going to be revealed at next week’s motor show.
You may be familiar with the Silverstone GP edition of the previous Clio RS. Well, now it’s time for the famous French principality to have a Clio named after it.
The most obvious feature is the exclusive White Frost Pearl exterior paint. This contrasts with the gloss black front grilles, mirror casings, window surrounds and 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels. The interior gets a few bits of white trim on the door panels and dash to match the exterior paint but otherwise remains the same.
Power is still rated at 200bhp and 234 Nm, good for a 60mph time of 6.5 seconds and a top speed of 143mph. The contentious six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission remains, which will undoubtedly upset those who’ve been badgering Renault to fit a manual ‘box to the Clio 200.
The big question is whether or not the Clio Monaco GP will be coming to the UK and, if so, how much wil it cost? We’ll just have to wait and see.
