Configuring Your Car Be Fun With Microsoft Surface

Although the internet has made it possible for buyers to spec out their dream car without leaving the comfort of their armchair, the video below shows how advancing technology can make the process even more fun.

The display is a Microsoft Surface, a huge touch-screen that recognises various hand movements (stop sniggering) and translates them into commands within the program. In this case it’s a full 3D model of an Audi A6 that allows you to zoom and rotate the image, step inside the car for a full 360degree view and then start choosing your options. Colours, wheel designs, accessories – all are available through this clever system.

Sadly it’s just a prototype at the moment, but it’s just a question of time before these things start appearing in dealerships.
